"My son, listen to me. I am your mother," We Cudai said gently to La Galigo. "Come back; let us rebuild Ale Cina together." She truly hoped to close the gap between them, her gaze full of longing.
La Galigo, however, refused quite firmly. "Mother, I do not want to stay here," he replied, his eyes filling with tears. "I already have another life. Your offer is tempting, but it cannot force me."
We Cudai gently stroked La Galigo's head, feeling heartbroken. "I only want what is best for you, La Galigo," she whispered, her voice beginning to tremble. "I truly hope you will continue this legacy."
Seeing the distress, Sawerigading quickly entered the room. "What is happening here?" he asked, his voice full of worry. La Galigo looked at him, crying harder. Sawerigading sat beside him, trying to comfort, but nothing calmed the tears.
"Oh, it seems a king cannot even calm his own son," Sawerigading joked, trying to lighten the mood. We Cudai smiled faintly at her husband's effort, although her heart still ached with longing.
"When I show you the sky, you will see unimaginable beauty," Sawerigading continued, lifting La Galigo and pointing towards the room's ceiling. "Look, all of that exists in the sky kingdom."
La Galigo, now intrigued, asked, "Are all those things real?" Sawerigading smiled warmly. "Yes, beautiful ponds and many wonders await there. Just like our home in Ale Luwu, you will find happiness anywhere."
With a strong hug, We Cudai whispered, "You are the only one in my heart. I will always wait for you, my dear." Her love for him was unwavering, a constant promise.
A moment of quiet passed. Then, We Cudai asked to speak with Sawerigading alone. "Give us some time, La Galigo," she requested. As his parents talked, La Galigo felt momentarily overlooked, missing his own palace.
