Plot Summary
Batara Guru, a lonely sky deity undergoing a trial on Earth, is guided by a talking crocodile to the underwater kingdom to meet his destined consort, We Nyili' Timo. After a brief but meaningful encounter where they agree to unite, Batara Guru returns to find a magnificent palace and infrastructure have descended from the sky, signifying his new role as king. He begins to establish his reign, planning for his kingdom's future and anticipating his queen's arrival, embracing his transformation into the first human ruler of Luwu under the watchful eyes of his divine parents.

On the newly formed lands of Ale Luwu, Batara Guru, once a revered sky deity, felt the heavy weight of his human form and the immense solitude of his task. He had lived as a man, experiencing a profound longing for the Sky, his former home. The transformation had been exhausting, leaving him with a sharp sense of isolation. His divine father, Datu Patoto'e, had decreed this trial: Batara Guru must conquer and govern this nascent Earth using only his own strength and wisdom, without assistance from his celestial siblings or guardians. This immense responsibility, coupled with his deep loneliness, pressed heavily upon his spirit as he faced the untamed wilderness. He knew his choices would shape this new world.

On the eighth morning, a real hunger stirred Batara Guru. He rose from his bamboo bed, his stomach empty, and walked towards the river for water. There, a Crocodile approached him without fear. Its deep eyes seemed to understand the burdens on Batara Guru’s soul. "My Lord," the Crocodile spoke softly, "your heart is troubled. You miss the voice of the Sky and desire a partner. I know of We Nyili' Timo, the daughter of the sea, who is destined to be your consort. I can take you to her, to the magnificent underwater kingdom of Pertiwi."

Batara Guru considered the offer. His duty called him to the untamed land, yet the promise of companionship resonated deeply. "I will go," he decided, "but our visit must be brief. I must return quickly to my responsibilities here on Ale Luwu."

With a nod, the Crocodile lowered its broad back, inviting Batara Guru to climb on. The journey began, swift and silent, as they descended into the cool, clear depths of the river. The water parted for them, revealing a world of shimmering light and vibrant life. Soon, a grand palace, built of coral and pearls, emerged from the aquatic twilight. This was Pertiwi, the home of We Nyili' Timo. Inside, surrounded by the gentle sway of sea plants, stood We Nyili' Timo, her beauty as serene as the deep ocean. Batara Guru felt an immediate connection, a sense of destiny fulfilled.

We Nyili' Timo, however, seemed hesitant. Her eyes, the color of the sea, met his with a touch of apprehension. "Lord Batara Guru," she began softly, "you are from the Sky, and I am from the Sea. Our origins are so different, and my appearance is not like yours. Can you truly accept me as your partner and queen on the Earth?"

Batara Guru stepped closer, his gaze steady and reassuring. "We Nyili' Timo," he replied, his voice calm and firm, "our origins may differ, but our purpose can be shared. I do not seek superficial similarities, but a partner with whom to build a new world. What I value is a willing heart and a shared vision for the future of Ale Luwu. Together, we can create a kingdom where both sky and sea find harmony."

From the shadows, her parents, Sinauk Toja and Guru Riselek, emerged. Sinauk Toja, with a gentle smile, said, "Batara Guru speaks with wisdom. Treat her as an equal, a true partner in all your endeavors." Guru Riselek added, "Her strength lies in her understanding of the Earth's depths. Combine your strengths, and your reign will be prosperous."

With their blessing, Batara Guru bid farewell to We Nyili' Timo, promising his swift return. The Crocodile carried him back to the surface, and as he stepped onto the riverbank, a breathtaking sight greeted him. Where only wilderness had been, a magnificent palace, Istana Manurung, now stood, its spires reaching towards the sky. Thousands of attendants, dressed in fine silks, had descended from the heavens, awaiting his command. The land around the palace had been miraculously cleared, ready for cultivation.

Among the assembled figures, a man stepped forward. This was La Oro Keling, his first subordinate, his face earnest and respectful. "My Lord," he announced, bowing deeply, "the land has been prepared as you desired. We await your further instructions to begin the work of building your kingdom."

Batara Guru surveyed his new domain, a sense of purpose solidifying within him. "Excellent, La Oro Keling," he commanded, his voice now imbued with the authority of a king. "Let us begin by mapping the fertile areas. We will establish irrigation channels from the river to ensure our crops flourish. Organize the people into groups for planting rice and other essential foods. Our kingdom will thrive on the bounty of this land."

As he issued commands, Batara Guru felt the weight of his responsibilities, yet it was no longer a burden of solitude. He was a king now, with a kingdom to build and a people to guide. His thoughts, however, often drifted to We Nyili' Timo, her gentle apprehension, and his promise to return. He knew his longing for her was strong, but the immediate needs of Ale Luwu demanded his full attention. He had to establish a firm foundation before he could welcome his queen to their shared home.

High above, in the celestial realms, Datu Patoto'e and Datu Palinge', Batara Guru's divine parents, observed his progress. A quiet satisfaction settled upon them. Their son was embracing his trial, growing into a wise and capable human ruler, understanding the delicate balance between divine power and earthly duty.

Batara Guru took a deep breath, the fresh air of Ale Luwu filling his lungs. He was ready. He would be a strong and wise king, guiding his people, cultivating the land, and preparing a worthy home. He looked towards the horizon, his heart resolute, ready to build his kingdom and, in time, welcome We Nyili' Timo as his partner, shaping the history of humanity on this new Earth.
